IT faces many issues. However, there are several information systems issues that continue to persist, even after many years of recognition; and they never seem to diminish. Perhaps it would be useful to have a better understanding of those issues and why they persist.

Why, after decades of advances in information technology and practices, do the issues of alignment, integration, responsiveness, flexibility, cost, and time persist? The very fundamental reason for this situation is the current information systems development methodology is defective. You can’t produce a new or different result if you continue to use the methodology that was used to produce the existing result.
